I am a 29 self-thought artist, romantic, day-dreamer and restless. I was born and raised in Colombia, South America and came to US almost three years ago to marry my husband. 

< How Did I start? >

Since I remember, I use my time Drawing, Cutting, pasting, sewing and writing. When I was 16 my art’s teacher told me that I was not good enough to be an Artist and I believed her. You can believe everything when you are 16. That Day I stop drawing and started writing. Ten years after that I recover myself and gave me the opportunity to try again. 

Tree years ago I married my lovely husband. I came to United states . I wasn’t working and I wanted to do something nice for my friends for Christmas. I bought some supplies and there started Mariapalito.

I am Architect.
Self thought web designer, graphic Designer and Illustrator.
I spend more of my life with a pencil and a piece of paper in my hand.

<What I do>
I love Illustration, collage, Mixed media, collage, web design, graphic design and comics. I focus mainly on handcrafting design, unique design – 100% handmade.

< What is a Mariapalito? >
The Praying mantis is also called in Colombia, “Mariapalito”. I adopted that name for my store and for the image of my brand :Mariapalito. She is a character full of charm and color… She is a doll with a huge smile, red curly hair, sweet heart, happy faces and lots of fun. Mariapalito was born as an idea of creating small little gifts and creative expression to fulfill our lives of color !!
